Tunbridge Wells Breakers may have lost their opening match of the season but they were in the hunt for victory until the very last ball of the game. The new look side battled hard against a strong opponent, despite some early strikes by the opposition. The Breakers' batsman had no answer to a superb spell from James Tollman which resulted in three quick wickets and a catch by Joe Pickering which was high fived by both teams as one of the most outstanding catches you would ever see at this level of cricket!

Tunbridge Wells won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 147 runs in 20 overs with Mr. R. Naveen making 71 off 50 balls and Mr. D. Murali making 37 off 31 balls with 3 fours and a six before being stumped by Mr Brescia for 37 against his old team mates from Tunbridge Wells . Brescia started well but were unable to keep up with the run rate required as they lost 5 wickets for 41 runs before reaching their target of 149 in 19 overs losing 6 wickets along the way while scoring only 2 runs more than their opponents!
In the first over, the BRE openers got off to a great start as they added 46 runs for the first wicket. However, shortly afterwards, Tollman dismissed the opener in his second over.
Pickering came into bowl and he was able to dismiss another opener in his very first ball. In fact, Pickering was able to take six wickets in seven overs (1st innings) which included two catches and four run-outs!
The BRE lost their 3rd wicket when they were at 194/3; however, they still managed to add another 102 runs before stumps were called on Day 1 of this Test match
Tollman and Tax open the bowling. With the score on 9, BRE lose their first wicket to Tollman. A fine opening spell sees him remove both openers and another with a flipper before being replaced by Pickering. BRE 68-3 after 15 overs. However, Dhruv departs with a fine catch by Pickering in the covers off the bowling of Tollman. Pickering bowls WK when he makes a half century and with good spells from Matthews and Denness BRE are bowled out for 147

The openers, Dhruv and WK, get off to a good start with a couple of boundaries. BRE lose their first wicket when Dhruv is caught by Tollman off Matthews.
This brings in the experienced middle order batsman SR Tendulkar who comes out and gets going with some trademark shots both on the leg side and off the pads.
