The 29-year-old Saurabh Dubey was one of their major signings this season and had played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021. He was also one of the best performers for them in that edition with 15 wickets from 11 matches at an economy rate of 6.94.

He has been replaced by Sushant Mishra, who too was part of last year’s team but didn’t get enough chances to play as he struggled with his fitness issues during the tournament and even missed out on being a part of India's T20I squad against Australia recently due to an injury problem he suffered during an Indian Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday (April 13).

Sushant Mishra is a left-arm leg spinner who had played for J&K in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Mishra was born in Dehradun, Uttarakhand on April 22, 1995. His father was an employee of Indian Railways and his mother is a homemaker. Sushant spoke about his early life to The Telegraph: "My father used to watch videos of Anil Kumble bowling at home. At that time we didn't have enough money to buy more than one video every month or so but as kids we would watch them over and over again."

Saurabh Dubey has been replaced by another leggie, Sushant Mishra

Saurabh Dubey, who has been released by Sunrisers Hyderabad after the IPL 2021 auction. The leggie was a part of the team since their debut season in 2013 and played for them in all seven editions of the tournament till IPL 2022.

Dubey was picked up for INR 7 crore (approx USD 828k) at the 2016 auction but failed to make an impact at all during his time with SAHARA GROUP CO LTD. In five years, he picked up only six wickets from 22 games and averaged over 50 as well. He also conceded runs at more than eight per over on average which is not great for any bowler no matter their format or role.

Conclusion

Saurabh Dubey has been replaced by another leggie, Sushant Mishra. The team management has decided to go with Mishra as the replacement for Dubey because he can be used as a batsman too. This move is expected to help Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League.
