Chennai Super Kings have had a few issues with their batting this season and they will be hoping for some big scores from their most experienced players. Shane Watson has been in good form so far this season and he is expected to open the innings along with Ambati Rayudu. Suresh Raina has not had too many chances to bat but he will be hoping to change that against Delhi Capitals. Faf du Plessis is going through a lean patch and the South African will be hoping to turn things around for himself in this game. Kedar Jadhav is another under-utilized batsman for CSK in this IPL season but he could get into the playing eleven soon. Ravindra Jadeja will look to score some valuable runs lower down the order for his side. Ravichandran Ashwin and Karn Sharma are likely to keep their places in the side as well
CSK has a very strong batting line-up and their opening pair of Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu is one of the best in the tournament. Both these players are proven performers in IPL and have been instrumental in CSK's success last year. They have also been opening the innings for CSK this season, so they will be expected to perform again on Saturday night against Delhi Capitals.
Suresh Raina has not had too many chances to bat but he will be hoping to change that against Delhi Capitals. The veteran Indian batsman is expected to bat at the top of the order and will be looking forward to scoring some valuable runs for his team.

Faf du Plessis is going through a lean patch and the South African will be hoping to turn things around for himself in this game. He has not been in good form, scoring just two fifties from his last ten innings. However, given how well he bats at home, Du Plessis will be hoping that he can get into the groove and score some runs against Delhi Capitals.
Du Plessis is one of the best players of spin bowling in world cricket at present and he has also shown great technique against pace as well. Therefore, if CSK have to beat Delhi Capitals this time around then they will need to get Faf du Plessis into their side for most parts of the game so that their middle order gets stability with a strong player like him batting at number three or higher up the order
The CSK management is known to be very conservative, and they tend to stick with the same combination for a long time. But this time around, they perhaps have no choice but to play with their best possible batting lineup. Kedar Jadhav is another under-utilized batsman for CSK in this IPL season but he could get into the playing eleven soon. The Indian middle order has been in a flux since last few weeks due to injury concerns and unavailability of players due to national commitments. Jadhav has been on top of his game right through this tournament scoring at an average of over 40 runs per match he played so far (5 matches). He is also one of the best fielders in T20 cricket currently which is why he was brought back into India's ODI squad after being out for almost 2 years now:
Jadhav’s bowling has come handy several times during his career spells as a specialist spinner from over the years including one against Bangladesh where he picked up five wickets at just 12 runs apiece including a hat-trick! Partly because of these performances along with his all-round abilities, many fans were hoping that Kedar would be included in India's World Cup squad later than year end 2019 but unfortunately it did not happen despite being named as standbys by selectors during selection meeting before final 15 members were announced
The former India all-rounder has been batting at the top of the order for Chennai Super Kings for quite some time now. He was also there when they won IPL 2018 and he struck a sumptuous unbeaten half-century in that final against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Jadeja has played an important role in CSK's success over the years. In fact, his runs have often gone a long way in helping them win matches or even set up good totals on occasion when they haven't been playing well. However, it remains to be seen if he will do so again in this game given his recent form with the bat which hasn't been great at all as he has failed to get past 15 twice out of five games since February 19th where he scored 18 runs against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
Ashwin is a good bowler and a great batsman, while Karn is a good bowler and a great batsman. They are therefore likely to keep their places in the side as well because they are good players.
Thakur and Curran could form a deadly combination with the new ball for CSK, as they have done in the past. The two bowlers have picked up crucial wickets at vital times to help CSK win matches and also have been able to keep runs down from their end.
Dwayne Bravo is quite experienced when it comes to bowling and has shown his capabilities while playing for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. He is a good all-rounder with both bat and ball, which makes him one of the most valuable players on this team this season.
CSK has not been able to live up to their reputation as a batting team this season. They have won just three games and lost five matches so far, making it clear that they are struggling a lot in the tournament.
In terms of chasing targets, CSK has been below average. In fact, they have lost two chases out of three that they have played in this season. Their batting order looks off-color as compared to their usual standards where they were used to win many games by chasing down very difficult targets.
CSK has been off-color in the last few games and they will need to be at their best when they face Delhi Capitals. The two sides have a similar record this season but I think CSK's batting prowess gives them an edge over the others.
